When you start to get a short list of the most reputable moving companies to choose from, make sure that they all are insured enough both to cover any damages to your possessions and to also cover their employees if they are injured while on the job.

Be aware that if you call a national van lines company, they will often use a local mover to get the job done. So find out who they intend to use and then check out the reputation on that local company as well.
